Members of the co-op are diverse in nature and represent the cooperative community by bringing expertise which ranges from living in housing cooperatives to managing housing cooperatives to developing housing cooperatives. Our membership qualifications are:
- All members must be at least 18 years of age;
- All members must submit an application for membership which is approved by the Board of Directors;
- Pays the minimum amount of membership fees required to be a member of the appropriate class (currently established at $50 for developers, $40 for allied professionals and $30 for supporters);
- can reasonably use the services or supports the goals of the cooperatives
Additionally, individuals applying for the developers class of membership must meet an additional criteria that they meet the competency qualifications established by the Board of Directors.
Co-ops are democratic, member-owned organizations. They are responsible to their own members. Our members determine how the co-op will be run and have the opportunity to attend at least one members meeting each year where they have the opportunity to both run for and elect the Board of Directors and approve the financial statements. Your membership fee also gets you a discounted rate to our annual Learning Symposium.
